Aid is Temporary, Knowledge is Forever!

Statistics show that 8 out of 10 students in Ghana do not make it to universities or get jobs upon receiving their diplomas. The most substantial factors which attribute to that end are financial incapability, standardized tests which they may not be prepared for and a general lack of opportunities.

In Ghana, each student is required to take a nationwide exam once after middle school and again after high school before they will be accepted to the next level of education. Of the 80% who do pass the test, only 20% can afford the school fees or have the resources to move forward. The 20% of the children that fail the exam are often victims of intense pressure and sometimes less apt to shine during standardized testing. For each course, Ghanian children have to read, absorb and memorize at least two text books. Failing is most often not a result of unintelligence, but a lack of understanding in the system of other methods of learning. These factors are not taken into consideration because the method of succeeding in Ghana is black and white; you must get into university and graduate. In order to help those who do not succeed through traditional Ghanian schools, we aim to provide additional educational support and resources as an alternative path to success.
